About the Support and Interventions Unit – Children and Young People
The unit is a central part of the Individual and Family Care Department in Värmdö Municipality. Here, we work to strengthen and support children and young people through several activities: Mini Maria, Youth Clinic, Parental Support Hamnen, Family Team, Social Intervention Group (SIG), SSPF, and Field Operations. Together, we build a secure and supportive network for young people and their families.
About Mini Maria
Mini Maria Värmdö is a collaborative clinic between the municipality and the region. The staff consists of a counselor from Värmdö Municipality and a nurse from Maria Ungdom. Our target group is young people and young adults up to 23 years old with issues related to alcohol, drugs, or gambling. Parents and relatives are also offered support.
Your Role
As a therapist at Mini Maria, you will become an important resource for both young people and their families. Among other things, you will:
Your Experience
We are looking for you who are a social worker or have other relevant higher education. You have experience in structured therapeutic work with young people in substance abuse and/or crime, and you are confident in working with MI (Motivational Interviewing) and/or other treatment methods, such as ACRA, CRAFT, HAP/CPU.
It is an advantage if you have:
Basic psychotherapy education, training in motivational interviewing, relapse prevention, ACRA, CRAFT, gambling addiction treatment, or other evidence-based methods, as well as experience in parental support or family therapy.

You can handle complex situations and difficult conversations professionally, while maintaining calm and focus even when the work places high demands on flexibility and adaptability.

You take responsibility for planning, implementing, and following up on treatment and support interventions. You work independently, take initiative, and drive processes forward while ensuring that interventions are based on the young person's needs and the activity's goals.
Collaborative Spirit
You easily create trusting relationships with young people and guardians, as well as having a good ability to collaborate with colleagues and external actors such as schools, social services, and healthcare. You see collaboration as a prerequisite for creating sustainable solutions and contributing to the best possible support for the young person.
Structured
You plan and organize your work efficiently and have the ability to handle several parallel cases simultaneously. You work systematically with documentation, follow-up, and coordination of interventions, ensuring that the work maintains high quality and is conducted in a legally secure manner.

The position is a one-year full-time temporary position. We welcome your application by July 15, 2026. Selection and interviews are conducted continuously! For this position, presenting a valid extract from the police criminal record is a requirement for employment.
